Cancer Research UK is the UK’s largest charity, generating donations in excess of £400m per annum. Cancer Research UK has a dedicated innovation team whose role is to ensure there is a continued supply of new innovative donation ideas.
Internet shopping was leading to a reduction in donation levels from traditional collecting means. The innovation team had the vision to create the virtual charity box of the electronic age to fund broad social, health and environmental change. The vision was called Give Change Make Change.
This new innovation for the charity sector enables supporters to donate whilst they shop online, making it simpler and more convenient to give. Shoppers simply round up their purchases and donate this spare change to charity.
